Enhancing Physical and Learning Abilities with Whole Brain/Body Integration
It is our pleasure to share with you the enhanced use of Brain Gym®. These simple movements support whole-brain learning for better performance and reduced stress and have proved very successful in clinical treatment, leisure education and recreation participation.
This course will provide an experience of some basic Brain Gym® movement patterns. You will discover the significance and power of these movements and develop a profound respect for the physical component of learning.
You will come away with new techniques and have fun!
As this is an experiential workshop, you are invited to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Through exploration, play, movement education and Brain Gym®, you will discover the richness within you.
What is Brain Gym®?
Brain Gym® aims to educate the whole person. It combines the techniques of applied kinesiology with the current understanding of whole-brain learning and, through movement, draws out the natural resources that are in each person.
Brain Gym® also uses highly effective technologies taken from many other fields such as developmental optometry, brain research, neurolinguistic programming, motor development, psychology, acupuncture and language development. It has been accepted by the U.S. National Learning Foundation as one of the top innovative technologies for education in the 1990's.
How can Brain Gym® help me?
Performing the Brain Gym® movements regularly over a period of time has been found to improve visual and aural perception, increase long and short term memory, reduce hyperactivity and restore a feeling of calmness and control.
How is Brain Gym® used?
A learning readiness program, Brain Gym® is currently used in 32 different countries with a wide range of clientele. High performance athletes, musicians and other performers, members of the business community, seniors and geriatric patients, children with learning difficulties, as well as people in rehabilitation programs have all benefited from Brain Gym®. Clients feel the difference.
In Toronto, Brain Gym® is used at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in the Therapeutic Recreation program for addictions.
