Advanced Placement

The Advanced Placement Program is an opportunity for talented high-school students to take college-level courses and examinations. Over 30 courses in 18 subject areas are offered in more than 14,000 high schools worldwide. Many high-school students, in addition to receiving an enriched learning experience, start university with a semester or more of credits.

The College Board develops the curriculum guidelines for the courses and administers the examinations which take place in May and June.
