Excel-ability Learning
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is about how to program our neurology and language to get the results we really want. Since its development in the early 1970's its impact has been far reaching with applications in more and more areas, especially health, education and business. For many the name is confusing and a meaningful description of NLP is challenging to portray briefly. Because of its results and strong impact in the areas of self-awareness, learning, change, communication and performance, this site will develop and promote opportunities for understanding and using NLP -- with and without the jargon.
NLP deals with the way we filter, through our senses, our experiences of the outside world and how we use those senses internally. Training in NLP enhances our observation skills and our ability to appreciate the differences which filtering creates from one person to the next. It also examines how our perception, values and patterns of belief determine how we behave and what we achieve. NLP not only gives insights into human behaviour and motivation, but provides practical ways for improving performance.
Areas of Application:
History:
NLP originated with John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the
early 70's in the USA. It is based on many older approaches. Even
the term "neuro-linguistic" was coined by Korzybski
appearing in Science and Sanity in 1933. NLP grew out of
the work of Alfred Korzybski, Fritz Perls, Dr. Milton Erickson,
Dr. Virginia Satir, Gregory Bateson, Noam Chomsky, and Maxwell
Maltz. But NLP has unique elements of its own and it is still
developing and evolving.
