Mark Gurovsky graduated with a Ph.D. in piano at the Leningrad State Conservatory.

Gurovsky is winner of several competitions including top prizes in the all Russian National Competition, first prize and Gold medal in the Ninth International Piano Competition "Citta di Senigallia" in Italy, he has shared the first prize with conductor Semyon Bychkov in the Centennial Jubilee of Sergei Rachmaninoff?s Pianists and Conductors Competition in Moscow, and was a prize winner in the Frederic Chopin Competition.
