Earl Haig Secondary School


Earl Haig Secondary School, located in the North York part of Toronto, is a secondary school (grades 9-OAC), which houses the secondary component of the Claude Watson Arts Program. This secondary program, which first began in September 1982, is a continuation of the grades 4-8 program offered at the Claude Watson School for the Arts. The maximum of 400 Arts students at Earl Haig are made up of the graduates of the elementary Arts Program and newly auditioned students from across the City of Toronto. In addition to their academic program, these students may major in Music, Dance, Drama or Visual Arts.

Auditions:

Auditions for new students are held each year in January. The largest number of student places are at the Grade 9 level with some availability in the other grades. The audition process includes an interview, class audition and a solo audition in one of the four specialty areas: Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Arts. Audition information is available in October and the completed application is due in November for registration the following year. An Information Night/Open House will be held on November 8, 2000.
