The Mooredale Youth Orchestra program includes three levels of orchestras.
Junior Orchestra (6 to 12 years). Kristine Bogyo, conductor. Provides a first opportunity for developing elementary musical and ensemble skills. Repertoire includes simplified Baroque music. Prerequisite - Suzuki book 2-4. Rehearsals on Saturdays 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. Three concerts a year.
Intermediate Orchestra: (10 to 15 years). Clare Carberry, conductor. Repertoire concentrates on the Baroque masters such as Vivaldi and Corelli. Prerequisite - Suzuki book 4-7. Rehearsals on Saturdays 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. Three concerts a year.
Youth Orchestra: (12 to 20 years). Kristine Bogyo, conductor. A full orchestra which performs more difficult symphonies by composers such as Haydn, Mozart and Schubert. Prerequisite - grade 8 RCM level or more advanced. Rehearsals on Saturdays 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Three concerts a year.
Rehearsals are at Mooredale House, 146 Crescent Rd., (near Sherbourne or Rosedale subway stations.)
Tuition fees: $250 for the year (from September to June.)
