Gates Funds Scholarship Program

Software giant Bill Gates is giving back to the community through The Gates Millennium Scholars Program which will provide scholarships and fellowships for outstanding low-income African-American, Native American, Hispanic American and Asian American students to attend undergraduate and graduate institutions of their choice. The program is based on a contribution from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation of one billion dollars over the next twenty years. The United Negro College Fund, the American Indian College Fund, and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund will assist with the distribution.


Preventing Violence in the Schools Conference this Week

On Monday this week, the conference on Preventing Violence in Schools will begin in Toronto.
