New On-line Brain/Mind Research Newsletter
Eric Jensen, an educator dedicated to brain based learning, has launched Learning Brain, an on-line monthly newsletter promising the latest findings on the brain and learning. Subscriptions range from a read-only to a more expensive downloadable/printable version. More information is available at www.learningbrain.com.
Scholastic went live last week with a newly designed site for teachers and students featuring interactive tools and more than 12,000 pages supporting curriculum and learning goals for K-8 teaching, including lesson plans, research and teaching tools and resources, author interviews and current event news stories. These resources are free with plans to expand in another year to include purchasable resources. www.scholastic.com
University Shopping for Canadian Students
This week Maclean's distributes its ninth annual ranking of Canadian Universities. The articles and rankings are available online at www.macleans.ca/xta-doc/1999/11/15/Universities1999/index.shtml. This is also the month when 140 universities from the US and overseas will be participating in fairs to recruit Canadian students in Vancouver on November 7 and in Toronto from November 13 - 15.
