Joan Barrett is recognized as a distinguished and innovative teacher whose students have included several provincial and national prize winners. Many of her graduates are members of professional orchestra and chamber groups and teaching institutions around the world. She has also developed a reputation as a learning and performance coach. Her approach is an integrated one which develops technical and musical skills as well as mind and body skills.

• Michelle Zapf-Belanger has been accepted into the Glenn Gould Professional Program at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, where she will continue to study with Joan Barrett.
• Jessica Herdman is studying with David Stewart at the University of Ottawa.
• Christer Tepper is studying with Rudolf Gäler in Bonn, Germany. This past year he studied on scholarship with Oleh Krysa at the Eastman School of Music.
