Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano
- Beginning and Elementary Students
- master classes on solo and piano ensemble repertoire, and other activities appropriate to the students' ages.
- Intermediate Students
- Master classes, supervised practising, recitals, and chamber music with piano or string ensembles. String students will also paraticipate in the string orchestra.
- Senior Students (RCM Grade X and above)
- Master classes and workshops, recitals, chamber music coaching and performance, and one hour of private instruction.
Private Lessons
Senior students will receive one hour of private instruction with the regular registration fee. Intermediate and Senior students may request additional private lessons at a rate of $20 per half hour. See Fees. Registration form .
Concerts
- Evening recitals include performances by both faculty and students.

Schedule
July 7-11, 2003
- Beginning and Elementary Students: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - noon
- Intermediate Students: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
- Senior Students: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Tuesday & Friday evening recitals, 7:30pm
- Wednesday evening 'coffee-house' features informal performances of all kinds.
- Noon-hour student recitals are held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Special recreational activities may be scheduled after 2:30pm on Thursday afternoon.
- A barbeque for all participants and their families is held after Friday's noon recital.
- Informal musically-oriented events may also take place, according to the students' interests and enthusiasm.
- We expect students to do additional practising outside the scheduled sessions. Pianos and scheduled practice times will be available afternoons and evenings.
Auditions
All students are required to audition, preferably in person, though an audio or video tape is also acceptable. Except for the elementary programs, students should be playing at a Grade III level or above. See Audition Requirements and Information Form (PDF file, 8 kb).
Expectations
Students who attend Strings & Keys are expected to:
- bring at least three solo pieces, carefully prepared, with room for further improvement.
- attend all events every day (relative to their program), and both evening recitals (Tuesday and Friday nights).
- thoroughly learn their chamber music and orchestra assignments before they arrive.
- be open to new ways of learning and new musical experiences, prepared to enjoy learning not only from your teachers, but from other students in master classes, chamber music rehearsals and recitals.
